At spring meeting, House of Bishops speaks on Ukraine, anti-trans bills
n its first in-person assembly since September of 2019, The Episcopal Church House of Bishops gathered March 15-21 at Camp Allen in Navasota, Texas, for its traditional spring retreat. In addition to their primary activities of fellowship, study, prayer, and Sabbath, the 133 bishops and bishops-elect present held a business meeting the morning of March 19 that included the passage of pastoral statements/resolutions on the war in Ukraine and anti-trans legislation in various states.

Episcopal Church announces delegates, invites churchwide participation in UN Commission on the Status of Women
Maintaining a tradition more than 25 years old, The Episcopal Church and Anglican partners will advocate for global issues that impact women through its participation in the annual United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) on March 14-25. A presiding bishop’s delegation of eight women and men will represent the church virtually, and all Episcopalians and Anglicans are invited to participate.
New poll confirms Jesus remains important spiritual figure, but pandemic had effect on religious activity
A new national study, Jesus in America, was released today in a partnership between The Episcopal Church and Ipsos. The research found that while the majority of Americans polled believe Jesus was an important spiritual figure and want equality in society, it also showed Christians are not necessarily practicing what Jesus taught, and Americans feel judged when talking about their beliefs.
Diocese of Ecuador Central notified of successful canonical consent process for next bishop
The Episcopal Diocese of Ecuador Central has received notification from Presiding Bishop and Primate Michael B. Curry that Bishop-elect Juan Carlos Quiñonez has received the required majority of consents in the canonical consent process detailed in Canon III.11.3. The consents received have been certified by the Rev. Canon Michael Barlowe, Registrar of the General Convention.
