The Episcopal Church is a founding member of Creation Justice Ministries, a national ecumenical Christian organization with a mission to educate, equip, and mobilize faith communities to protect, restore, and more rightly share God’s creation. Creation Justice Ministries works in close partnership with the Episcopal Church Office of Government Relations and the Stewardship of Creation Committee.
Based on the priorities of its member denominations/communions/fellowships, with a particular concern for the vulnerable and marginalized, Creation Justice Ministries provides collaborative opportunities to build ecumenical community, guides people of faith towards eco-justice transformations, and raises a collective witness in the public arena echoing Christ's call for just relationships among all of creation. Each year before Earth Day, Creation Justice Ministries offers new ecumenical Christian education resources.
Creation Justice Ministries continues the work of the former National Council of Churches Eco-Justice Program, and now functions as the ecumenical environmental partner to the National Council of Churches USA.
